March 3 - 31, 2012
Opening Reception:
Saturday, March 3rd
1:00 - 3:00
El Dorado Nature Center
7550 E. Spring St. ~ Long Beach CA 90815
This show will feature a spectrum of work by the artist. There will be beautiful landscapes in various medium. The watercolors and pastels she is known for that celebrate such natural wonders as Yosemite, as well as the hidden pockets of nature within the city will be on view in one of those very settings. Visitors may come and enjoy a walk before or after viewing the artwork on lovely trails that surround the oasis just off the freeway.
New works will surprise those who are less familiar with her conceptual works, an engaging prose in vision that explores the views of the city from the spiritual voyage of a city dweller. Two window pieces (actual windows removed from local houses ~ re-purposed) capture the city scapes and find us wondering where we might be in the world, enticing us to question the vision before us. What do we choose to see over what we might really be viewing?
