Meet the Artist at Long Beach Oasis

Artist's Closing Reception

Saturday, March 31st

NOON until 3 p.m.

"Serenity in the City”
March 3 - 31, 2012

This show features a spectrum of work by the artist. There are beautiful landscapes in various medium. The watercolors and pastels she is known for that celebrate such natural wonders as Yosemite, as well as the hidden pockets of nature within the city will be on view in one of those very settings. Visitors may come and enjoy a walk before or after viewing the artwork on lovely trails that surround the oasis just off the freeway.

New works will surprise those who are less familiar with her conceptual works, an engaging prose in vision that explores the views of the city from the spiritual voyage of a city dweller. Two window pieces (actual windows removed from local houses ~ re-purposed) capture the city scapes and find us wondering where we might be in the world, enticing us to question the vision before us. What do we choose to see over what we might really be viewing?

Wow!!! Second Place at the CCAG Holiday Art Show !!

The artists of the Culver City Art Group gathered for their annual holiday art exhibition. This year's venue was held at a beautiful new location, Playa Vista Centerpointe Club and the spread of food was out of this world.

Wonderful friends and visitors gathered and enjoyed the amazing art by my fellow group members. Art of all types included watercolors, acrylic and oil paintings, graphic design, photography, tile work and assemblage. There was something for everyone.

We enjoyed the day and celebrated an extremely successful event. There were door prizes as well as a contest juried by a fellow artist. And.....

.....my watercolor , "Secondhand Two-Step" won a second-place ribbon!!
